I've been training for 7 years and honestly these are some of the best gloves I've owned. The padding is incredible - you can really feel the effect of the Y-structure design. After 3 months of heavy use about (5x/week) the padding holds very well. Only thing to consider is that the leather material takes a few wears to break in fully.
